Is the Bible Real? Part 1

The Bible was written over a span of 1,500 years by about 40 writers. It has a singular goal which is the salvation of man.  It records the creation, the fall of man from fellowship with God, the measures God took to make fellowship possible again and the instructions on how to do that.

Preserved in more than 25,000 manuscripts, the textual evidence is greater for both the Old and New Testaments than any other ancient document.

The early church writers quoted the New Testament enough that it could be reconstructed from their writings alone.

The Bible contains a record of the History of God's people and their interactions with other peoples.  In every case, the Bible agrees with history.  There has never been an archeological discovery that contradicts an existing historical event recorded in the Bible.

The Bible contains prophecy and fulfillment.   There is not a single case of any prophecy pointing to events that have occurred that has not been fulfilled.  There are hundreds of them concerning Jesus and the events of His life and death, written centuries before He lived on earth.  Only an all knowing God could be capable of such an accomplishment.

The Bible could not exist as written without divine intervention.  It is the most historically accurate, well preserved collection of writings in existence today.  It is the divinely inspired self authenticating Word of God.

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls."
