			Give
			Me Neither Poverty nor Riches

			Introduction:

It’s difficult sometimes to avoid going to extremes about certain
things.  One such subject is that of money.  The Bible discusses our
money and possessions probably more than any topic.  We certainly
don’t want to go to extremes about this important subject.  We are
			warned about this in
			Proverbs 30:7-9.
Having too much money can be dangerous to our souls; but so can
having too little.   The Apostle Paul informs us we can learn how to
live whether we have a lot or a little.  (Philippians
			4:12)
Contentment lies in viewing our possessions from God’s point of
view.   So what is God’s point of view?

			Body:

			I. Money Doesn’t
			Give Us Security

				-
				Proverbs 11:28
Building your life upon riches is a poor foundation.  It will
				collapse.

				-
				Mark 10:24-25
“How hard it is for those who trust in their riches to enter the
kingdom of God!”  Their possessions become their god.

				-
				I Timothy
				6:17-19
Money is to be used to help others.  Good works are more
important than a good bank account.

			 II.
			You Cannot Out Give God

				-
				Proverbs
				3:9-10
Give to God the best you have!  No Leftovers!  All we possess is
in reality God’s.  Giving to God first helps us manage our
resources properly and allows us to receive special blessings
				from God.

				-
				Proverbs
				11:24-25
We become richer by being generous.  God blesses those who give
freely of their money, time, and energy.  This helps us keep
from becoming too attached to what we have.  Plus we get to
experience the joy of helping others.

				-
				Proverbs 22:9,
				II
				Corinthians 9:6,8

			III. Money Isn’t
			Everything

				-
				Proverbs
				8:10-11
				Knowledge and wisdom are better.

				-
				Proverbs 11:4
Righteousness is better.  On the Day of Judgment, riches will
				not buy eternal life.

				-
				Proverbs 15:16
The fear of the Lord is better.  We must revere and respect
				Jehovah.

			 Conclusion:

			Read
			Proverbs 23:4-5.
Store up treasures in heaven, not on earth.
