Impossible Things
Introduction:
When we study from God’s Word,
we discover several things that are truly impossible.
Body:
I.
It Is Impossible for God to Lie
(Hebrews
6:18)
·
Why? It is
impossible because it goes against His nature. He is holy,
just, and true. (Revelation
15:3-4)
·
There is no
darkness [evil, sin, error] in Him at all. (I
John 1:5)
II.
It Is Impossible to Be Saved Without the Blood of Christ
(Ephesians
1:7)
·
It’s the blood
Christ shed on Calvary that has the power to wash away sins.
·
This blood was the
price He paid to purchase the church of God. (Acts
20:28)
·
One comes in
contact with Christ’s blood when he/she is baptized for the
remission of their sins. (Acts
22:16)
III.
It Is Impossible to Be Saved Without Faith
(Hebrews
11:6)
·
Faith is essential
for eternal life. (John
8:24)
·
Not all kinds of
faith save, though. (James
2:17-20)
Only an obedient faith is acceptable to God. (Hebrews
5:9)
IV.
It Is Impossible to Be Saved Without the New Birth
(John
3:3-5)
·
Spiritual rebirth
is essential to enter heaven. (Matthew
25:34, II
Peter 1:10-11)
·
Being born of God
makes one a child of God. (John
1:12-13)
V.
It Is Impossible to Be Saved after This Life Is Over
(Luke
16:24-26)
·
There is a great
gulf fixed between the saved and the lost. There is no
possibility of changing one’s location after death. (Hebrews
9:27)
There is no second chance!
Conclusion:
God’s Word informs us that it
is possible for any person to be saved. It is God’s desire
for all to be saved. (II
Peter 3:9)
